This book is based on selected contributions to the Fourth Annual Meeting of the Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness (ASSC), which took place in Belgium in 2000. It is an interdisciplinary anthology of 14 articles on an important topic at the interface of philosophy of psychology and neuroscience. There is a very good introduction by Axel Cleeremans that summarizes the chapters, all of which are of high quality and written by many of the leaders in the field.
