Ontology and Mental Causation

Real Natures and Familiar Objects
By Crawford L. Elder. Cambridge, MA: MIT Press, 2004. xii + 204 pp. Cloth, $32.00.

Elder's project in Real Natures and Familiar Objects is to argue that many ordinary objects, processes, and events as well as the objects of the social sciences are real in the ontologically strict sense and truly exist and that we know about them in the common-sense empirical ways that we suppose we do in ordinary experience and the sciences.
