Studying Learning in Museums

Perspectives on Object-Centered Learning in Museums
Edited by Scott G. Paris. Mahwah, NJ: Erlbaum, 2002. xxii + 383 pp. Cloth, $89.95.

The title of this book may sound narrow in its scope, but it could as easily have been called Studying the Heart of the Museum because objects are the essential material possessions of museums, and learning is at the very core of their mission (see the definitions of museums in American Association of Museums, 1992).
